Lonnie Rae Smith

Board Vice President

Serving the Portland Metro area for over 20 years, Lonnie Rae Smith’s focus is researching and developing programs to address educational and career needs for individuals of all ages. She is the owner of Advantage Learning Solutions and is passionate about serving Dream Big.  “It is my privilege to be involved with an organization whose primary focus is to assist nonprofits in accomplishing their goals.”

Ken Dahlstrom

Board Treasurer

Ken was born and raised in Vancouver, WA. He graduated Washington State University. He is heavily involved in his son’s lives. His involvement in coaching two sons, along with doing Junior Achievement in the local schools has continued to strengthen ties to Vancouver and the need for people to give back. Ken was also involved in the local school bond issues being the treasurer and helping to pass the school levies that support the needs of the local school districts.

Scott Horngren

Scott is a litigation attorney with the American Forest Resource Council (AFRC). He is a graduate of Lewis & Clarkʼs Northwest School of Law. Prior to joining the American Forest Resource Council, he was a partner for twenty years with the Portland, Oregon law firm of Haglund, Kelley,Horngren, Jones & Wilder LLP. He also serves on the board of the Western Resources Legal Center which provides natural resources education for law students about natural resource industries.

Darcy Altizer
Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce
Chair of Events and Fundraising

Darcy is the Membership Services Director for the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. Her community involvement includes: Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Dream Big Community Center, Evergreen School District Advisory Panel, Leadership Clark County, Willamette Valley Development Officers Advisory Panel, Community Military Appreciation Committee, and Health Equity Coalition.

Amy Holmes
Hayes Freedom High School
Chair of Programs

She has been the administrator of alternative programs for the district for the past 9 years.  Prior to moving to administration Amy taught middle school in Camas, Culver City, CA, and Rochester Washington, as well as coached a variety of sports at those levels. Working with students to achieve their goals and educating teachers on instructional methods to best meet the needs of diverse student populations are her passions.

Steve Stuart
Clark County Commissioner

Steve Stuart, who grew up in Ridgefield, Washington, was appointed as a county commissioner in December 2004. Prior to that, he worked as the Executive Director of Urban Reserve, a wetlands conservation bank. He also worked for Friends of Clark County as Executive Director at the state and local level, working with neighborhoods, businesses, and environmental groups.

Nathan Webster

Nathan has a Bachelor’s Degree in public affairs, and MBA in Operations Management. “I’m blessed with a beautiful wife and eight children. My first priority is God, second is Family, and third is to help people.” Nathan founded the organization in 2004.
